Castle Town

Warwick Castle–the gateway for kings and moat to shield them

Warwick– the biggest castle of Midieval England–started by William the Conqueror in 1068, and built up over the next seven centuries.  It’s amazing how such a structure can dominate the political landscape of a nation.  But now it’s a reminder of the those brutal years, and a place for a picnic, a leisurely stroll through dank dungeons and rose-bedecked gardens on a pleasant October day.  Be good though, or you’ll be sent to stand in the corner with a bucket over your head, or worse–to stand in the stockcade with a plastic collar around your neck.
